Capturing Your Self-Love Journey
How To Prepare For Your Boudoir Shoot
Skin Prep
Get a facial or use a hydrating mask at home. Exfoliate 2–3 times a week leading up to your shoot, then focus on deep hydration the week before for a radiant glow. Moisturize daily with a fragrance-free lotion for soft, smooth skin.
Hair Prep
Get a trim or color refresh the week before your shoot. Use a deep conditioning treatment for healthy, shiny hair.
Nail & Grooming Prep
Keep nails clean and polished. A neutral manicure or well-groomed bare nails look best. Shave or wax as needed.
Tanning (Optional)
If you choose to spray tan, do it 4–5 days before your shoot for a natural, even glow. Avoid tan lines and streaks.
Hydrate & Eat Well
Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your shoot. Eat light, balanced meals to feel your best.
Personalize With Props
Bring props like hats, flowers, sunglasses, blankets, or even your pet to add a unique touch. You can also ask your photographer about available props.
Plan Your Outfits
Try on your outfits in advance to make sure they fit well and make you feel confident. Remove any tags, and steam or iron delicate pieces if needed.
Get Plenty of Rest
A good night’s sleep before your session will help you feel refreshed and look your best.
- Boudoir Do's
- Wear Loose Clothing Beforehand – Avoid tight clothes to prevent marks on your skin.
- Pack Your Essentials – Bring lingerie, outfits, heels, and accessories such as stockings, jewelry, and outfit layers (like a cardigan).
- Share Your Vision – Send your photographer a Pinterest board or inspiration images to communicate the vibe and poses you love.
- Arrive Relaxed – Give yourself plenty of time to prepare and arrive stress-free.
- Enjoy Yourself! – Have fun, embrace your confidence, and trust the process!
- Boudoir Don'ts
- Don’t Forget Heels – If you wear them, bring a clean or new pair (black and red always look stunning). If you don’t wear heels, no worries!
- Don’t Skip Accessories – Small details like jewelry, stockings, or simple outfit layers can add variety to your photos.
- Don’t Spray Tan at the Last Minute – Avoid Tanning 48 hours before your session to prevent streaks or an uneven look.
- Don’t Get a Last-Minute Hair Makeover – Avoid drastic haircuts or color changes right before your shoot in case you don’t love the result.
- Don’t Overthink It! – Just relax, have fun, and enjoy your session. You’re going to look amazing!
